Learning project
The start of a seminar is often key to how the whole day goes. So why not surprise your participants with TeamNavigator? It's a fun way to turn the seminar introduction into an interactive learning project. This means that even this first phase of the seminar becomes a valuable team experience for your participants. With TeamNavigator, you set the course for cooperative behaviour right from the start and build a good group spirit; or you can use it as an elegant introduction to the topics of ‘teamwork’ and ‘leadership’.
Implementation
The participants stand in a circle around TeamNavigator. Each participant takes one or two strings in their hands (you can remove any unused strings in a few simple steps). The aim is to manoeuvre the pen in the middle over a sheet of paper clamped in place and draw any shape (e.g. a company logo). It is also possible to trace a given maze. The strings should remain taut.
Name compass: Together, the group ‘maps out’ the seminar day, symbolically recorded as a route, and experiences rapid progress and the occasional bend in the road in advance. Instead of the usual directional descriptions (up, down, left, right, etc.), only the names of the participants may be used. Learning the names happens almost automatically. The trainer then presents the topics of the day on prepared moderation cards and sticks them along the path.
Leadership: All participants holding strings cover their eyes. The remaining participants take the lead and coordinate the sign movements with skilful, goal-oriented verbal instructions. Ideally, each ‘blind’ person is assigned a ‘sighted’ person as a coach. The “blind” people experience how important the distribution of information is within the company; the ‘sighted’ people experience how much precise instructions contribute to overall success.
