We strongly believe that solidarity is a crucial, supporting factor in a society like ours and that we as entrepreneurs have an important contribution to make. We see ourselves as co-creators of this world and we don’t just want to talk about values such as integration and participation, but to create and experience them every hour of every working day.

METALOG® has established close ties with various sheltered workshops through a production partnership that has grown over many years. As an internationally active company, we guarantee the workshops a high, continuous level of work. The employees at the workshops are offered a wide range of opportunities to play an active role in their working lives as part of a team that get the best out of their knowledge and skills. They perform their work with great attention to detail and genuine dedication. As a result, each precious tool is lovingly and individually produced by hand.

How a product is created

The majority of METALOG® training tools are made of wood. For this reason, we work with sheltered workshops that specialize in woodworking. These workshops manufacture the high-quality tools in complex, small-scale and precisely coordinated processes. Each of the workshops’ employees is trained in the manufacturing steps of a tool, which they then professionally implement under the compassionate and expert guidance of the master carpenters and workshop managers.

CollaborationPuzzle is created in numerous detailed work steps. For example, several wooden plates pre-machined by the computer-controlled milling machine are meticulously glued together – so that later on the rods fit perfectly.

The rods are positioned next to the workstation, ready to hand and waiting to be used.

“Collaboration” is also the name of the game in production, where the colleagues work hand in hand on a single tool. Finally, the tool is given a thorough inspection: does everything really fit like it should? In the last step, the METALOG® logo is burned into the wood. Then the next CollaborationPuzzle is placed on the table.

Both sides are always particularly pleased when Managing Director and tool developer Tobias Voss visits the workshop and is shown the individual production steps of a tool by the employees. During his last visit, the team showed him how the METALOG® training tool PerspActive is manufactured. In addition to manual sanding and gluing work, state-of-the-art computer-aided machines and milling machines are also used.

The wood milling machine for the round parts of the PerspActive is set up professionally and carefully monitored. Tobias Voss has the employee show him the work process in detail.

The cords are then tied on and the hose adjusted. Several employees also work hand in hand on this tool.

The PerspActive makes our production team particularly proud, as it is manufactured with a great deal of demanding manual labour. As intensive and lengthy as the process from the development of the tools to their series production is, the emotion and learning experience at the end rewards everyone who uses the tool.

About the tool

Countless work steps lead to a lovingly crafted tool. The workshop team looks proudly at the pallets packed high with ‘their’ products before they are collected by METALOG®. The various tools are then dispatched from our central warehouse in Olching near Munich to our customers all over the world.
