Learning project
A good (learning) team can be an important source of support for each individual in achieving their goals and developing their personality. But what does such a team look like? With Tower of Power, the group can ask themselves the following questions: ‘How do we want to talk to each other?’ ‘What is important to us in our collaboration, in the group or in the class?’ Answers to these and other questions should be found in a playful way.
Implementation
In a designated area, 8 components are distributed vertically on the floor. Each person grabs one end of a rope (or more, depending on the number of participants; individual ropes can also be removed if necessary). The task is to work together to control the crane attached to the ropes and use it to stack the building blocks on top of each other to build a tower. The rule is that the participants must not touch the building blocks with any part of their bodies. This is a wobbly business. The design of the building blocks does not allow for a hectic and uncoordinated approach. The task can therefore only be solved through precise coordination and organised, joint action by the group.
Variation: Have your team build the most solid 3-storey ‘house’ possible. This way, you avoid the tower possibly falling over, as in the classic version. Mistakes made during construction can thus be easily integrated.
