Learning project
Inspired by the idea of Magic Bamboo, we have designed a new version of this ‘stick landing’ for more sophisticated requirements. Whereas in the past you had to rely on a fixed group size, our four-part FloatingStick is suitable for 6 to 22 participants. The FloatingStick, which used to be difficult to transport due to its length of approx. 2.30 m, has now been transformed into a 1 m long piece of luggage that is even welcome on aeroplanes. A must in every trainer's repertoire!
Implementation
The participants stand facing each other in two rows. The trainer places the FloatingStick on their outstretched index fingers and gently presses it down. The task is to place the wand on the floor. There is only one rule: no one is allowed to lose finger contact with the wand. But as soon as the trainer lets go, the FloatingStick moves upwards instead of downwards! The reason: in an attempt to maintain contact with this extremely light wand (weighing only 200 g and measuring 4 metres in length thanks to a special aluminium alloy), each participant unconsciously pushes slightly upwards. The wand follows this movement. The goal can only be achieved through detailed consultation, concentration, self-organisation and moderation.
